About Stoneleigh Coronation Masonic Lodge in Sutton
Founded in 1937, Stoneleigh Coronation Lodge was created to commemorate the Coronation of King George VI. From the start, it became known for friendship, integrity, and dedication to the Craft.
During the war years, members met under difficult conditions, keeping the spirit of Freemasonry alive. The Lodge Banner, dedicated in 1940, still bears the names of every Master since that time.
After the war, the Lodge grew steadily and helped form several daughter Lodges and a Royal Arch Chapter. By its 25th and 50th anniversaries, it had become a cornerstone of Surrey Freemasonry.
In 1977, meetings moved from the Stoneleigh Inn to Sutton Masonic Hall, where the Lodge continues its proud traditions today.
Recent years have brought renewal and stability, with experienced members guiding newer brethren through ritual, fellowship, and charity.
